RWBY: The WAR (Concept) Aether Pendragon

Description

One of the many things I love about fiction is world building, especially in a fantasy setting where things are not like how they are in reality. Technology, setting, and historical backstories are quite fascinating. And with RWBY there's no shortage of this, as with each new Volume we add another piece to the puzzle known as Remnant. Dust, the various Kingdoms, Aura & Semblance, the Grimm (which anyone who's seen my stuff know I'm a big fan of), and we've barely scratched the surface!

One of the many things on my mind is the yet unnamed "War" that has been briefly touched on in the past two Volumes. Arguably it may well be one of the most significant events in man (and Faunas) history on Remnant. While I know most folks like to do fan theories and OC's for the current generation, my curiosity couldn't help but be peaked by the idea. And thus I set out to do something ridiculous and unnecessary, spurned purely by blind speculation AND the desire to see and evil version of King Arthur (cause in a world where Cinderella, Beast, and Aladdin are villains anything is possible!). I have no doubt that Mr. :iconmontyoum: will eventually unveil something in the near future that will render this concept completely obsolete, so I'll probably retool him for something else (as I had too much fun making this, and I enjoy his design!)

"The Unstoppable Eraser..."

Name: Aether Pendragon

Alias: The Eraser Tyrant

Age: 57 (D.O.B: 137 Years Prior to start of RWBY)(D.O.D: 80 Years prior to start of RWBY)

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Height: 6'8"

Status: Deceased (confirmed, though body never recovered)

Clothing: Armor and Cape, would eventually infuse with large quantities of Dust.

Emblem: The Round (Color wheel, devoid of color)

Personality: Prideful and arrogant, in his mind there was no one in the world who was his equal. He cared not for anyone, and would easily cut down a mother and her child as he would a solider on the battlefield if he saw fit to it.

Often employed a "Shock and Awe" method to his combat style.

His lust for power and control led him to taking drastic and radical steps to ensure his goal, going so far as to combine dangerously large amounts of Dust with his own body.

Believed that Dust was the key to ascending to a higher power.

Fear(s): There was one thing that he feared above all else, defeat...

Dream: To see humanity unified under one rule.

Dislikes: Those whom he deemed "undesired": the crippled, the rebellious, had a strong hatred towards Faunus in particular.

Weapon: Sword: EX-CLR-BRN (pronounced X-Color-Burn) A powerful sword whose blades were composed of condensed Dust. Shield: Stonedge, a heavy shield made from one large Dust crystal, also doubles as the sword's sheath.

Semblance: Royal Waves. Pendragon could project his Aura outward as powerful shockwaves throughout his body. He could amplify this power through his sword EX-CLR-BRN and produce an incredibly dangerous visible slash of raw energy.

Reputation: Those who faced him on the battlefield feared him, to his enemies he was a monster. Those who served alongside him were zealots and praised him as if he were a god, something he believed with all his heart.

Brief History: One of many, though perhaps easily among the most recognizable enemies of freedom in Remnant's history. His majesty, Lord Aether Pendragon, alongside various other countries, sought to take control of Remnant. A desire that was met with heavy resistance.

Many lives lost for the sake of a few shellfish individuals. Bloody conflict after conflict. Each battle escalating further and further. Even with his power, Pendragon sought to crush his enemies absolutely. Going so far as to take extreme measures, to ensure his victory.

Eventually the mad tyrant was defeated, his armies destroyed, his castles lay in ruin, his "allies" deserted. Various accounts detailing his death exist. Some say he was overpowered by a small group of heroes. Others say that his own men turned on him amidst his final battle. A few say that he was swarmed by a thousand or more Grimm, who tore his body apart limb from limb. And a few say that his heavy reliance of Dust was his undoing, eventually becoming too great for even him to handle before destroying him.

Whether you believe those stories or something else, you may rest easy knowing that the reign of the Eraser is no more...

Long Live the King...

Now, that is a King I would wish to serve or battle against!
