RWBY: Grimm Concept, Carmilla

The Carmilla are large feline-like creatures of Grimm. As with most Grimm, the Carmilla are covered in black fur with bone like masks covered in red markings. Along the spine (as well as the arms, legs, shoulders, and hips) are a series of protruding bone like spikes. Perhaps the most notable physical feature of the Carmilla are the elongated canines the creatures posses, giving it a striking resemblance to the prehistoric Saber-Toothed Cat.

While it lacks the pack numbers of the Beowolves or the raw brute strength of the Ursa's, it more than makes up for with a rather crude sense of cunning.

A nocturnal enemy who takes advantage of the dark so it may silently approach its target for an ambush. After the initial strike Carmilla's will engage in a "Hit & Run" attack pattern, attacking opponents only to hide in the darkness to strike again (either flanking the enemy from behind, or leaping down at them from above). Their preferred method of kill is to pin down their prey and using their Saber-Teeth pierce the chest. It is interesting to note that the entry wound for these Coup de grace always occurs around the heart of the victim.

Whether this is a sign of the monsters violent instincts or a warning of the creatures cold intelligence is still up to debate...
